Power of Goals
Many of us work hard but feel that our hard work doesn’t yield anything that we expected.
The reason behind the negative outcome is being unplanned
and not clear about what we need as an end result.
Maybe we have a destination to reach for but not the proper
road map to achieve it. We may happen to face some serious obstacles on our
progress. The thing is that Are we planned our activity such that we are ready
to face anything that comes as a hindrance? Or are we going to get stuck where
we are?
A Simple Strategy to achieve everything in our Wish list is to set goals in a proper way.
Simply setting up a goal will not let you to achieve what
you think of. And here comes the
strategy for winning the Goal. We must be dedicated to the follow the process.
I would like to start it up with my favorite Quote.
"Set your goal so high even the failure looks beautiful!”
For Instance, if you want to become a Billionaire then ending-up becoming a Millionaire still makes you proud! Isn't it?
Setting up a goal is just a matter of seconds. And working
towards it is big deal.
SMART GOALS
I would like to share some simple tips to stick with your
goal.
S.M.A.R.T Goals! [Peter Drucker's]
- Specific
- Measurable
- Attainable
- Realistic
- Timely
Many are having the destination in mind whereas not clear
about when and how to achieve it.
The Goal must answer the following questions:
- Who is involved?
- What to be done?
- When to complete?
Example
For example: Many would like to reduce weight. This is a
goal, not a “SMART” goal
A SMART goal would be “I will reduce 1 kg weight by next
Month by doing workouts”
This is specific about what we need to do, and how we need
to do.
Once the goal is set, note down the Action plans. Divide the
Main Goal into Micro Goals (in this case, per week goal)
Once in a while spend some time to review your goal and to
analyze where you are and what is that you can do to improvise the progress.
Following this will take you to the Milestone that is set.
Some more tips are:
- Put goals in Writing - Don't announce your goals, so that Negative people may give discouraging comments. Instead make note of it in your personal Diary!
- Take Notes - If your goal has not been met, then make note of the point which was the obstacle to achieve it.
- Plan Action Items – Keep a scheduled to-do list
- Get into Action – Never ever give up and continue working on it. Even if we are gonna fail, that failure must be only after our best try
Many of us are held up with work, family, travel etc. Even
if we can’t sit and spend time in creating a Goal action plan, we must do it
on-the go in Mobile. Now-a-days we have lots of application in mobile devices
which can be installed to manage our daily activities.
Use the available resources efficiently to improve yourself.
There is no point in working, spending time; there must be
some progress in our everyday life. Be it personal, career, passion,
entertainment, travel etc
“Don’t stop when you are tired. Stop when you are done!”
Always remind yourself with "Why are you doing what you
are doing?"
Positive Attitude, Strong Mind, Prioritization will help you
to achieve what you want
Have fear about failure, and let it be your Motivation!
